TF2 - How to play the spy.

November 19, 2008 - 5:29 am No Comments

EDIT 2: Annotations! Nifty tool this is. EDIT: A lot of changes have happened to the spy since I posted this video: - For once, the teleporter trail will NOT appear under you as a spy if you are cloaked or disguised. - The knife does about 60 damage when not backstabbing, for example you can kill a scout in 3 slashes. - Backstab detection is really wonky now, and the backstab animation guarantees frustration when warping causes you to miss a lot of kills. - Remember to cloak first, then disguise, otherwise if you disguise first and cloak, the smoke effect can blow your cover from a mile away. ----- Decided to make a spy gameplay tutorial after being in a server and seeing spies trying out all sorts of interesting tactics such as "uncloaking in front of your face" and "running towards you disguised with your name". This is just something based on my playstyle so you might say my tactics don't work, but I can usually come out on top of the scoreboard if the enemy team isn't overly paranoid. I use certain terms you may not have heard such as: Front - The area where most of the fighting takes place on a map. This constantly changes during the round and it's the place where you will most likely get shot if you get seen running towards the enemy base. Blind spot - An area where the enemy team has no vision. Use these blind spots to uncloak safely prior to a backstab. I haven't actually given any advice on when to use the disguise because basically you should be disguised at all times, except when you are inside your base. You can use the friendly disguise on your part of the map to confuse enemy spies. They won't expect that medic that ran behind them to instantly take them down. Potent Porsche: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Spy Video

November 19, 2008 - 5:29 am No Comments

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=126540 We're only a few months away from the official launch of the 2009 Porsche 911, but recent spy video from the Nürburgring suggests that a refreshed version of the 911 GT3 will follow for the 2010 model year. Like the forthcoming 911 Carrera, the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 gets only minor styling changes this time around. The reworked front end has been simplified with only three air inlets instead of five, while the front marker lights have been narrowed slightly. Tape over the taillights indicates a few minor changes to their design along with the switch to full LED illumination. It's hard to tell if the spoiler is full production spec, but it's certainly high enough to carry the GT3 tradition. Like the Carrera, the 2010 GT3's flat-6 engine will benefit from the addition of direct fuel injection. The new technology will deliver an extra 20 horsepower in the standard Carrera, so expect a similar bump to the GT3's current 415-hp rating. Displacement is expected to remain at 3.6 liters. Although it's clear from the sound of the gearchanges that this GT3 prototype has a manual transmission, the introduction of the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission in the standard 911 opens the door for inclusion in the GT3 as well. The new PDK transmission is essentially Porsche's version of Volkswagen's DSG, but whether it's up to handling the GT3's additional power remains to be seen. With deliveries of the 911 Carrera and Carrera S models scheduled to start this fall, sales of the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 probably won't begin until late next spring at the earliest.

Created by Djy1991 After sustaining light brain damage from riding a mechanical bull, this Kansas native went from being a stay-at-home dad to a full time Spy Checker. Later he was hired by a shadowy group of contractors bent on conquering enemy builders by using a construction company as a front. While his brain had difficulty recuperating after the many traumas of warfare, the Spy Checker went on to cook enemy Spies in over nine-thousand battles across the globe.

Spy Video: 2010 Ford Mustang by Inside Line

November 19, 2008 - 5:29 am No Comments

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/GeneralFuture/articleId=126178?tid=edmunds.il.futurelanding.latestnews..3.* You have to look closely to see the changes in the 2010 Ford Mustang, the car that will be battling the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro for our attention. Our spy shooters were able to capture video of several prototypes on the streets of Michigan, and the cars all wore several layers of heavy camouflage. There are some visible changes to the 2010 Mustang's grille, as some of these prototypes show some extra brightwork around the headlights. The hood has a slightly different shape as well, but it's probably nothing more than a little Styrofoam to hide the true design. It doesn't appear as though heavy sheet metal changes are in the works for the rest of the car, since the overall greenhouse appears unchanged. Both the coupe and convertible test mules were wearing a new set of double-spoke wheels along with relatively low-profile tires. Changes to the rear end are harder to discern. Multiple pieces of disguise hide the true shape of the rear bumper, while the lights appear unchanged from the current model. Most of the changes are expected to come under the hood. A 5.0-liter V8 will replace the current 4.6-liter V8, which should result in a decent bump in horsepower. It's not an all-new engine, though, merely an enlarged version of the 24-valve SOHC V8. The real news will be the introduction of Ford's new EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6. Its twin-turbo setup should deliver more than 300 hp while delivering superior mileage compared to the 5.0-liter V8. How Ford will pitch the new high-tech engine is tough to call, but expect some sort of special edition to highlight the new power plant. As finished as these prototypes look, the 2010 Ford Mustang isn't expected to go on sale until the fall of 2009. The EcoBoost-powered version will come even later. It sounds like a long way off, but the timing should give the new Mustang a little bit of breathing room after the introduction of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro earlier in the year.
