The overview of the 2007 season in Formula Challenge Japan. Igor Sushko drove in the #1 H.I.S. Travel-sponsored car. FCJ, as it is called in Japan, is a selective development series with 27 drivers sponsored by Nissan, Toyota, and Honda in order to produce new racing talent in Japan. The series imposes an age limit and the average age in 2007 was 21. The manufacturers pay for further development of successful drivers in series such as Formula Renault, Formula 3, Super GT GT300 and GT500. The end-goal is to produce Formula One (F1) drivers from Japan. It is the first time in history that a series of this caliber has been created in part with three separate automotive manufacturers. Each manufacturer also contracts top factory drivers in Japan as advisers to the students. Igor Sushko's advisers in 2007 were Tetsuya Tanaka 田中哲也 and Masami Kageyama　影山正美, both renown NISMO drivers. For more information, visit: http://www.igorsushko.com and http://www.automotiveforums.com 2007年度のフォーミュラ・チャレンジ・ジャパンでの参戦のビデオです。イゴール・スシュコは1号車、H.I.S.　旅行　スポンサー、のドライバーでした。 フォーミュラチャレンジ・ジャパン（FCJ）は、2006年、トヨタ、ニッサン、ホンダのグローバル自動車メーカー3社が協力して創設した新しいジュニア・フォーミュラカーレースである。その理念は「世界で活躍する有能な若手ドライバーの発掘と育成」および「日本のモータースポーツの裾野を広げ将来を支える人材の育成」という点に置かれている。 　世界のトップレベルで活躍する選手は、若いうちに数多くの経験を積んで成長している。その成長を助けるのが自動車メーカーを中心に設けられている各種のレーシングスクールとスカラシップ制度である。日本でもメーカー別にドライバーの育成システムが設けられてきたが、FCJはそのメーカーの枠を超え、実戦を通してより高度な育成を行うために実現したカテゴリーだ。 　 FCJでは、あくまでもドライビングテクニックに焦点を置いたトレーニングを行うため、参加車輌はワンメイクであるばかりか、独自の改造を一切禁じた管理下に置かれる。モーターレーシングにおいて、道具であるレーシングカーの性能はセッティングの差も含め勝敗を決する大きな要因だ。しかしFCJでは敢えてその差をなくしてレースを行う。 　 その結果、ドライバーのテクニックが浮かび上がり、分析と訓練の効率が上がると共に、優劣も明らかになる。 　シリーズを通して優秀な成績を収めた選手には、上位カテゴリー（F3相当）へステップアップするためのスカラシップが与えられる。開催初年度であった06 年の成績優秀選手は、2人が全日本F3選手権へ、1人がフォーミュラ・ルノー英国選手権へステップアップを果たした。FCJは若いレーシングドライバーが腕を磨き、その才能を証明してトップカテゴリーへ進出するための近道なのである。

    January 9th, 2009 at 00:48:08 Listening to this made me start playing Heroes 3 again...anyway, sad to hear about you dropping the GT-R. Would've loved to have seen it at Sebring this year. Even if they bring the R35 to Speed GT, it just isn't the RB26...
