"the other guy"
You obviously are not from Seattle! This show was (is) a Seattle staple, airing just before SNL from the late 80's till the late 90's.

Daniel 5:6: Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
Read the Bible. It is the Word of God. Go to FamilyRadio com to hear the True Gospel, the only Gospel that can save people from the wrath of God.

Nye hadn't really found his rhythm as the Science Guy yet this far back in time---consider the PBS series wouldn't come along until a good five or six years later.

Bill Nye, A real Funny AL cast member and a big part of my DVD set. I have completed the first of what I think will be 4 or 5 DVD's of my personal favorite Almost Live! skits. These will contain all of the repeated series of Billy Quan, Lame List, High Fiven' White Guys, AL Training Films, Bill Nye, Speed Walker, Middle Management Suck-ups, Nature Walk with Chuck, DJ Randy Scott, Worst Girlfriend, Cops and many other from my 250 shows.

So awesome his intro music was "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby, which I'm almost certain was lost on more than a few.

Bill Nye came to my school when I was in 3rd grade and did a lot of these same experiments. This was a few years before he had the TV show. Honestly, this broadcast of Almost Live could have been the first time he was introduced as "the Science Guy" so that is probably why it was so "awkward" according to some of you. It wasn't as polished as the highly produced stuff you are use to seeing. Long Live Bill Nye!
